The suburb of Brighton is 11km south east from Melbourne city central. Brighton has roughly 6 kilometres of some of the most famous Victorian coastline, with popular bike paths on Beach Road. Dendy Street beach is the home of the famous colourful Brighton bathing boxes, which have been relocated along Brighton beach several times but to this day elicit memories of a bygone era in Victoria. They stand today as a definitive and a well known Melbourne and Australian Icon.

Brighton has other significant historical locations, notably the Historic Homestead in Halifax Street with its magnificent English gardens,also Kamesburgh Mansion on North Road, a reminder of the long history of the area.
The railway on the Sandringham line will take you into the city and there are trams on the eastern side of Brighton.Also a range of buses on route 216 and 219 into the shopping precincts of Melbourne’s inner city.
Middle Brighton Municipal Baths and the Middle Brighton Pier is another historic place of note to visit.
Botticelli restaurant on Church Street, comes well recommended with great Mediterranean flavours. Also The White Rabbit at the Brighton Pub for a relaxing atmosphere and great food sounds great from the pot of reviews available online.
Brighton is one of Melbourne’s most adored suburbs due to its proximity to the beautiful Port Phillip Bay.
