We like their motto- ‘Open Everyday for Everyone’, but we like their style even better. Espresso, tapas, and wine, all done to perfection. Oh and did we mention their breakfast menu is available to 4pm? The restaurant is bustling (especially on weekends) for a reason, so do be sure to book. The tasty bites are best shared, and paired with one of the wines from the rather impressive list. A tip: Make sure you leave enough space for the carefully hand crafted desserts!

- Cinema Paradiso
If cheesy block busters make your skin crawl, you love hearing foreign languages, and you’re partial to a glass of wine to accompany your film, Cinema Paradiso is calling your name (the Spanish version, that is). Cinema Paradiso specialises in showcasing quality arthouse, independent and foreign films, and also at times screens the best of the mainstream flicks. If you’re partial to delectable home made cakes (some might say the best in Perth), spaces crammed with atmosphere, and reliably good Fiori coffee, then head to Boucla quick smart. The cafe has been lovingly created by Despina and Brian Tanner, and this familial touch shows- old family photos are hung in the Mediterranean style interior, and there are bits and pieces to keep your eyes busy as you wait for your highly anticipated snack, whether it be one of the aforementioned cakes, or an equally delicious savoury option. Located at the top end of Rokeby Road, this makes a good beginning or end point to a day of shopping in Subiaco. Do note- at lunch times Boucla can be exceptionally busy, and you might just have to wait a few minutes for a table. Worth it? Absolutely.

- Elixir Coffee Specialists
Their name says it all really. ‘Elixir Coffee Specialists’ are serious about making good coffee, so if you’re in need of a damn fine brew, it’s worth heading beyond the confines of Perth city. Powder blue coffee cups and a minimalistic decor, set off by a few key antique pieces make for the perfect space to enjoy a cup of coffee perhaps better described as nectar. Owner Justin sources the beans and roasts the coffee in-house. On offer is a single origin coffee, their smashing house blend, and cold drip coffee. The simple, delicious snacks on offer for breakfast and lunch are a match made in heaven for the real star here- the coffee.
